Bruce Curtis

Bruce, the owner, has been working on beautiful and distinguished homes in the Ann Arbor area for over 40 years. In 1983, he started Washtenaw Woodwrights Inc. He does all of its design work, estimating, sales, and project oversight. As often as possible, Bruce attends workshops and training on sustainable, natural building techniques. He is planning his own natural home at a rural site in Jackson County, Michigan.

Carl Gies

Carl, as a lead carpenter at Washtenaw Woodwights Inc, is in day to day contact with you, the homeowner. Carl has over 30 years of experience in fine residential remodeling. He has been on our team for over 10 years and is our master carpenter and craftsman. He also oversees all the subcontractors who will be working in your home. Carl also sings in the Choral Union, and he ushers for U of M sports events.

Keith Bailey

Keith is our go-to subcontractor lead carpenter when we need extra help or have two projects going at once. He receives the highest praises from our customers and from all of his customers. Keith also has over 30 years experience in construction and he and Carl are an awesome team. Keith also restores furniture and builds custom loudspeakers.

Sam Nadon-Nichols

Sam, a former lead carpenter for Washtenaw Woodwrights Inc, now handles all of our accounting, office management, and marketing. Sam has taught math and also has a fine arts degree from Eastern Michigan University. His paintings are locally exhibited and widely collected.
